About Me
- Nicole Hovdestad
- Hi! I'm Nicole, i'm from Sioux Falls, SD. During the year i stay pretty busy with sports, and i am a fan of almost every sport. But i would have to say that extreme sports are my favortie. Hanging out with my friends is a must for me and we always know how to have a good time. This summer was one of the hardest times i've ever been though but i'm hoping college is all that it's made out to be!

No i did not get in a fight!
This summer i was invited to play softball with my friends. It was just a pick up game so i thought it would just be a fun day. As the game went on i was up to bat again and i hit the ball to short stop were joe my friend was playing. Well joe is a hard core church league softball player and he was determined to get me out. So he chucked the ball to the first basemen. Our first basemen was Will who was like the laziest boy in our high school. Will decided it was to much work to reach for the ball and decieded he would let the softball hit my face. The ball hit my face and i was in shock and just stood there for a while. I started to feel the blood swell in my mouth. I started to spit some out and was like great i can't move my jaw. Everyone ran over and was like do u still have all ur teeth and i was like god i hope so i just had braces for six years! My mouth swelled up right away and i knew it was out of place so i asked my cousin to take me to the er. That day just happened to be the day i wore my tapout shirt. All of the guys were like if u can take a hit like that and not be fazed and then u should be cage fighting for sure. Well that sure made me laugh cause i love cage fighting. I went to the er and by this time i couldn't talk because my mouth had swelled up that much. Everyone just stared at me as i walked through the er and then the doctor walked in the room and was like um fight i'm guessing, and i hope u won. I said no it was a softball, and he was really surprised but he poped my jaw back in right away and said i would be fine i just may have some pain for a bit. But i had no pain, i was just not able to talk for awhile. The whole night though i had people asking me if i had been in a fight. And how fun it would have been to say yes my mom was always there to say no it was a softball.

um well i would say by me learning that i had to find all my strength to not hurt Will for letting the ball hit my face. Also that i sometimes need a good laugh in some of the worst times in my life. That summer i went through the worst time ever and after everyones remark to my face i learned i need to always look on the bright side and live my life. i really wouldn't want to write my literacy narrative on that i have a different topic that i would like to write on that changed my life.
